So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

Prayer for the Day
O Lord, Your Word is the only light that can penetrate the deep darkness of my current grief. When I am overwhelmed by the loss of my parent, let Your promises be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Give me the strength to look forward with hope to the dawning of Your eternal day. Keep my faith steady until the morning breaks. Amen.
