A Life Hidden in Christ
Colossians 3:3 (NIV)
"For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God."
Context Behind the Verse
In a world that constantly demands we prove our worth through our careers and achievements, it’s easy to feel lost when those things waver. Our jobs can become our identity, and their instability can shake us to our core. Yet, Paul reminds us of a profound truth: our old self, the one defined by worldly success, has died. Our true life is now “hidden with Christ in God.” This is not a call to hide from the world, but a beautiful assurance of our security. Just as a seed is tucked away in the soil, protected and nurtured before it sprouts, our real life is securely nestled in the Savior. Our value is not on display for the world to judge; it is securely kept by God Himself. This means no job loss, no demotion, and no professional failure can touch our true identity. We are secure, cherished, and held by the Creator of the universe. Let this truth anchor you today.
Prayer for the Day
Lord, I confess that I often tie my worth to my work. Thank You for the reminder that my true life is secure in You, hidden from the judgment of this world. Help me to rest in this identity and find my stability not in my vocation, but in Your unchanging love for me. Amen.
