The Apostle Paul paints a vibrant picture of Christian fellowship marked by active, self-giving affection. In a world driven by self-advancement and personal recognition, believers are called to cultivate an entirely different instinct: outdoing one another in showing honor. This posture transforms duty into delight, turning everyday community life into an act of worship.
Serving others within the body of Christ demands both diligence of the hands and warmth of the heart. When we open our homes, share our resources with those in need, and patiently bear one another’s burdens through hardship, we participate in the living ministry of Christ. True service does not wait for a convenient hour; it remains fervent, steadfast, and ready to bless, knowing that whenever we wash the feet of our brothers and sisters, we are ministering to the Lord Himself.
Prayer for the Day
Father, deliver me from the desire for praise and the impulse to put myself first. Fill my spirit with genuine love for my brothers and sisters, that I might gladly honor and serve them today. Make my hands quick to help and my home welcoming to all who enter. Amen.
